Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a precise tool used to remove the outer, damaged skin layers and treat wrinkles and uneven pigmentation.  State-of-the-art laser technology can achieve results with more precision than chemical peels or older laser technologies. Dr. McCracken uses the Sciton erbium laser, which is much safer than the traditional CO2 laser, with less chance of scarring or hypopigmentation and quicker patient recovery times.

Laser resurfacing can be used to treat the area around the eyes or mouth in the office, or the entire face can be treated at the surgery center with the patient under general anesthesia. Length of procedure and recovery times vary depending on whether you are having a more superficial or deeper, full resurfacing procedure.  Patients will experience peeling of the treated skin for about a week after the treatment, with redness that can last a few days for more superficial treatments, and up to a month for deeper treatments.
